General Points
Tippy's (the little girl) clothing is the most complimentary with the colors in the environment of the three characters. The intensity matches that of the environment, but the purple hue makes her distinct against it.
This shot has colors in the environment that are very dark, cool. but slightly saturated. The cool feeling of these colors is likely to show contrast with the day and is also that way here because it is obviously night.
Sections of the film, like this shot, push the camera to the sky to show the cool desaturated colors in the environment. There is more emphasis on these colors in the background when the viewer has the perspective of the girl viewing the two men in an imposing manner. Overall these shots are less friendly in color scheme with their lack of warmth and energy when compared to the warmer colors.
Overall
Overall the environmental color in the film seems to be reflected in the color in the set in this last image. The colors overall are muted, but warm. The warmth of the setting gives it energy and a slight feeling of a friendly environment (even if baren). The cold muted sky gives off a less friendly feeling in comparison. The characters of the two one-man bands seem to hold the most intense color for the film. Their colors being way more intense for the environment in most of the film means that they are the most attention-getting things in the shots and very much stand out in the environment. The girl's purple, while a distinct hue for this film's color, matches the intensity of the color in the environment and therefore fits the environment better in feelings associated with its colors.
