1. Progression.
-The story starts with the girl attempting to do her hair for a special day. When that attempt fails, her father comes to assist with the difficult task.
-It seems that the climax is somewhere between when the father is wanting to give up doing the girl's hair and when the girl sees her mother after her hair is successfully styled.
-The audience finds out that the mother is the reason for the special hairstyle day in an attempt to make the mother happy and that the mother currently doesn't have hair herself.
2. Conflict
-This would be the girl battling her hair to get it into a particular style. The conflict escalated to the point where her dad, who is assisting, is having trouble assisting her and wants to give up.
3. Characters
-The protagonist seems to be the child. Her goal is to put her hair in a certain style that is a challenge to get correct.
-There are some character interactions between the child and the cat. Another between the mother and child. Another between father and child.
4. Surprise.
-The main surprise is that the special hair day is for her mother who seems to be getting treatment that leaves herself with no hair.
5. Timing of information.
-It seems at the beginning there are bits about the situation being shown by the environment rather than showing the audience the character right away.
-There is also a lack of information about how the girl's hair turns into a mess between two shots that is being used for comedic effect.
- The audience also doesn't know the full reason for the hairstyle until it is shown at the end.
6. Novelty
-I imagine that the hair in one shot is literally being fought in a fighting ring is a visual with some novelty to it.
7. Visual Flow
-The flashback has a different visual flow brought on by its use of color that differs from the rest of the short.
- There are also diagonal lines changing the visual flow in the sequence where the father is literally fighting the hair.
